6 Reasons I love Working with Women.

1. Highly committed.


All the women I have worked with either on a formal job or a school project or a university assignment had this quality in very much in common. Although, qualities like commitment are not limited to any gender, there's something different about a women's commitment. Doesn't matter the commitment is towards the job, a task or a person but women, as per me, makes sure to be in-line with their commitments in all possible manners.


2. Better managers.


Will I be liked to be managed by a Women?

Absolutely, YES! Working with Women managers have always been a smooth ride for me at any work.


If I had been asked the question - who is the best manager? - few years back I could have named some of the people I had worked with. Now that I have experienced the life bit more, I can firmly say that it's my MOM. Can anyone be a better manager that a mom? I highly doubt! Women in general possess the quality to manage things in a better manner than the men. Their level of patience, the quality to empathise with others, and being able to listen to people are few of the things that makes a women a better manager.


3. Multi-taskers.


Managing a house and also the professional work, is it easy? Hell NO! It takes a lot of courage, and patience to multitask. The women I had worked with were full of patience and courage which enabled them to better work on different things at a given time. Now when the whole world is working from home, I could see my sisters and aunties struggling to entertain their crying baby while giving a presentation to their colleagues.


4. High breaking point.


The male colleagues and managers I have worked with had a very low breaking point compared to that of a women. As I said the quality to empathise and listen makes women to take more of whatever that is thrown at them. Although I have seen my women manager loosing it and how, but those were very rare occurrences.


5. Time management.


Women are experts in having optimum utilisation of time in whatever conditions. Again this is a trait that adds up in why they are better managers. From my home to my office I have seen women squeezing in some or the other work in between tasks or even the breaks. Anyways, considering the responsibilities they have it becomes hard to waste any of the time doing nothing.


6. Driven


Somehow, I have noticed that women have more understanding of how people around them do things and how people in the past have done things and how generations before us have struggled to get us here where we stand right now. Hence, they value the fact that they work and provide for their family. As a HR, I have always noticed how important and rewarding it is for a women to come to office and work and take the responsibility and to guide others and help others at work.


The reasons mentioned above are the things that I have experienced in my life, working with women. These reasons might lead some of you to think that I have generalised it for all - but that is not the case. I have worked with very few women in my life and these are the common reasons according to me for which I love working with women and continue to do so.


These reasons are also influenced by the fact that I think from the Indian perspective.


Working as a women in India is far different than working anywhere else.


All I want to say to all those ladies that are reading this is - Thank you!


Thank you for making the world a better place and now the corporate life!


As an HR I will always continue to push, help, support and guide the women to lead the way in my or any organisation.
